The D&H received 25 cars from AC&F with 4/4 IDN ends. An additional 250 1944 AAR design boxcars with the 3/4 IDN ends from D&H’s Oneonta, New York shops, delivered as follows:

Paint & Lettering: In February 1963, the Laurentian Shield medallion was introduced, replacing the 60” round medallion. Car sides, ends and roof were painted boxcar red: TCP-925; underframe and trucks painted with black car cement. Wheels left unpainted and allowed to gather dust, rust and road grime. Lettering white stencil paste.
