lettering set for Western Refrigerator Line - original scheme

Western Refrigerator Line provided refrigerator cars for the Green Bay & Western Railroad. Their eet consisted of only about 400- 500 cars

at any one time. The range of the Series, 9000-9999, is therefore misleading. Cars were built in 1929 by AC&F, then rebuilt in 1953-4. (Note:

Paint & Lettering: Sides were painted CNW refrigerator car gray, with mineral red ends and roof. Underframe coated with black car cement.

Lettering black on side and white on ends.
