In 1916, the name "San Pedro" was dropped from the corporate name of the San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad.  San Pedro had been absorbed by Los Angeles at the time, however, the Arrowhead Emblem remained as the symbol of the Salt Lake Route until its absorbtion into the Union Pacific System. -- W.G.
