40/50 Ton Dalman Two-Level freight truck

Part Number: PC-207-P

Price: $52.95/ Pair

In the early 1920’s the Dalman Company developed a much improved riding quality freight truck by combining 6 or 8 springs of varying stiffness  to greatly reduce oscillations that the increased speeds of freight trains caused.  Using stepped bolsters and spring clusters mounted on a two level design.  Most major truck manufacturers offered Dalman trucks, although they were usually adaptions of the original ARA approved design, their outward appearance was too similar to differentiate.  True also of the 40 and 50 ton Dalmans, the only difference being the size of the solid axle bearings.

This fully assembled, all-brass model by Boo Rim Precision of Korea, follow’s Dalman drawings and features ball bearings, working journal covers, full brake detail, fully equalized construction with working springs, tapered stainless steel axles, and sintered (70% iron and 30% stainless steel) rib-back wheels with accurate AAR profile.  Treads can be easily polished to a realistic running appearance.
