Lettering for 1937 AAR boxcars - red "Faster Freight" lettering

Part Number: SL-SF 3b

Price: $8.50

Approximately 68 1937 AAR boxcars were added to the roster as replacement cars lost through attrition from damage and wrecks between 1938 and 1940. Assigned random numbers within the 145550-163999 Series, the cars were built in SL-SF’s Springeld, Missouri, shops. All had Duryea underframes, but were otherwise the early standard 1937 AAR design with square corner ends. A few of the rebuilt cars from the 127000-130499 Series also found their way into SL-SF’s LCL service of which 128046, 129171 and 130159 are examples. Model: PC-3508

Paint & Lettering: The few cars selected for LCL service were painted with light tan sides and chocolate brown roof, ends, doors, trucks and ladders. Underbody coated with black car cement. Medallion and coonskin badge were chocolate and red lettering; lettering red stencil paste.

Decal set designed and created at Protocraft Decals
