Lettering for Louisiana & Arkansas 1932 ARA boxcars as-delivered scheme

In May, 1937, the L&A was able to add to an order of 1000 1932 ARA box cars being built for the Seaboard Railway by Pullman- Standard, Lot 5551A, and receive the additional 150 cars from that lot. The L&A assigned road numbers 15000-15149. In 1939 the L&A was absorbed into the Kansas City Southern. The cars kept the same road numbers but the “Better Way” medallion was replaced with the KCS herald during regular repaint schedules.
