8,000 gal tank car for Philadelphia Quartz Co

Philadelphia Quartz had two divisions, one in Philadelphia (PQX) and the other in Berkeley, California (PQCX). The Berkeley division had only a few cars: PQCX 108-110 built under AC&F Lot 1603 in January 1937, and PQCX 111-112, under Lot 2265 in May 1941. PQCX 113 below was purchased used and was built by Standard Tank Car in 1918. The tank was pressure tested on April 2, 1952

Paint & Lettering: Tank, including bottom sheet, painted aluminum, frame black. Lettering all black on aluminum and white on black. Note: there are photos of PQCX 108 and 110, painted with a black tank, an aluminum band and dome with aluminum lettering. See decal sheet PQCX-2
